Hi! I'm Yuval, a native Hebrew teacher and the founder of Learn Hebrew With Yuval.
I was born in a small village in northern Israel, in the mountains, not far from the city. As a kid, I loved languages, but I didn't connect with school. My English was just "enough" to get by, and when I did show up to class, it wasn't pretty.
Everything changed when I was 10. I started with a private teacher, and something clicked. I wasn't just learning a language... I felt safe, understood, and genuinely connected to my teacher. That bond made all the difference.
From there, everything moved differently. I ended up in the highest English class at school, and today I speak Hebrew, English, and Spanish, along with a few others at a basic level.
When I started traveling the world, communication came naturally, helping friends and family navigate unfamiliar places, finding hidden cafés down narrow streets, or figuring out how to get by completely on my own.
Why I Created Learn Hebrew With Yuval
My travels eventually took me through the East, where I spent much of my time in India. That's where I fell in love with yoga, and with my wife. I became a yoga teacher, and for the past several years, I've taught students online, sharing information and really understanding people through the way we communicate.
The feedback I kept hearing was the same: that I made things simple that used to feel complicated. That with other teachers, people were just following along without really understanding, but with me, they finally got it, in their bodies and in their minds.
Since I enjoyed that so much, I started teaching Hebrew too. I started because I saw how simple and fun language learning could actually be when it's taught the right way.
I believe in human connection. I believe that when we're in touch with ourselves, we learn and understand better. So I started teaching Hebrew to foreigners living in Israel, and English to Israelis. Today, with the help of my team, I get to do that online, for people anywhere in the world.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning Hebrew should be:
